WE TOLD YOU IN 1996: US Navy releases the Tic Tac footage and it is the Beryl craft, give or take a dome

Twenty-one years after this website went live with a single frame of VHS, the United States military has released cockpit video of an object that does everything the Beryl craft did. Dr Faraday has compared them in Faraday Units. The numbers are close. The numbers are very close.

The Beryl Photograph — 14 March 1994, 2:47 am, Top Paddock, Boolaroo Downs. The frame. Again. Because now it is a comparison frame. Dr Faraday has overlaid the Navy object at the same scale and reports that the Beryl craft is 'slightly wider, which is consistent with carrying a cow'. Shane rang me from Brisbane at 11 pm on Sunday, which he does not do, and said “Uncle Warren, turn on the computer”, which he does not say, and I did, and there it was. On a newspaper. A real one. United States Navy pilots. Cockpit video. An object with no wings, no exhaust, no visible means of propulsion, moving in ways that nothing we build can move.

They are calling it the Tic Tac, because of the shape. I call it Thursday night in the Top Paddock.

What the video shows

I have watched it, by my count, two hundred and twelve times, which I did not plan and which Dr Faraday says is “the number finding you”. The object hangs in the air. Then it goes. No run-up, no sound, gone off the side of the screen, and the pilot says a word I will not repeat on a family website but which I said myself, in the rain, in March 1994.

That is the Beryl manoeuvre. I have said it for twenty-one years. Straight up, no run-up, no noise, gone. Noreen used to say “things don’t do that, Warren”, and now the United States Navy has footage of a thing doing that and I would like, and I say this calmly, for somebody to ring Noreen.

Dr Faraday’s comparison

Dr Faraday has spent the week in the CWA hall with the projector, the Beryl tape, the Navy footage on Shane’s laptop, a ruler and the globe. He has produced a comparison, which I summarise.

Feature Beryl craft (1994) Navy object (2004, released 2017)
Shape Disc with dome Oblong (“Tic Tac”)
Visible propulsion None None
Sound None (dogs hummed) None (pilots swore)
Departure Instant, vertical Instant, lateral
Lights Rim, anticlockwise None visible
Interest in livestock Confirmed Unknown; was over the ocean
Luminosity (Faraday Units) 14 FU 12–16 FU (compressed video; margin of error)
Weather Raining Clear

On the question of shape, Dr Faraday is firm: the Tic Tac is the Beryl craft seen side-on. A disc with a dome, viewed exactly edge-on, at speed, through a targeting camera, flattens into an oblong. He has demonstrated this with a dinner plate and an egg cup and it is, I have to say, convincing.

On the question of the lights, he notes that the Navy footage is infrared and “you would not expect to see rim lights in infrared unless they were hot, and these are cold lights, we have always said they were cold lights”. We have always said that. I have checked the site and we said it in 1998.

What this means

For twenty-one years this website has been laughed at. By the Bureau. By the RAAF. By the paper, which ran us once under the headline Local Man’s Space Cow and never again. By Keith, weekly. By, and it hurts me to write this, my own wife, across my own kitchen table.

I am not going to say I told you so. I am going to say that in March 1996 Shane, aged nine, uploaded one frame of VHS to a computer the school was throwing out, and that frame showed an object that did exactly what the United States Navy has now confirmed, on the record, objects do. We were not first. The pilots were in 2004. But we were on the internet in 1996, and if the Navy had been reading ufo8mycow.net they would have known what they were looking at.

The cow question

The Navy object, as far as anyone can tell, did not take a cow. It was over the Pacific. There are no cows over the Pacific, or there were not until the Navy got there, and I note that the Navy has not released any footage of what the object did after it left the screen.

Dr Faraday’s position is that the Tic Tac is a scout. The Beryl craft is a collector. Same fleet, different departments, and the fact that the Americans saw the scout in 2004 and we saw the collector in 1994 means they were here ten years earlier and have been working their way up through the Pacific ever since, and he has drawn this on the globe as an arrow, and the arrow, he says, is now somewhere around Hawaii.

Hawaii has cattle. Shane checked.

A word from management

I have watched the video. It is interesting and I don't know what it is. That is a different thing from it being Beryl. Beryl is a cow who went to Roma in 1994 and the Navy, whatever else it has done, has not released footage of her. I would also point out that Lyle's dinner plate demonstration works for any round object including the moon. — Noreen

Where it stands

The Collective has written to the United States Navy offering the Beryl tape for comparison purposes. We have received an automated reply. We have written to the RAAF asking whether, in light of the Navy’s release, they would like to revisit the word “flares”. We have received nothing, which Dr Faraday has logged as “pending”.

I have put the Navy footage on the second bedroom wall next to the Beryl frame. Side by side. Twenty-one years apart. Same thing. Noreen walked past, stopped, looked at them both for a long time, and said “Warren, one of those is a cow”, and walked on, and I have decided to take that as progress.

Keep watching the paddock. The Navy is.

— Warren
